Types of Contributions
CAMS 2024 will be held in Blacksburg, Virginia, USA on September 3-5, 2024 at the Skelton Conference Center located at the Inn at Virginia Tech. The conference organizers invite stakeholders with interests in maritime applications of control to submit scientific and technological contributions in the form of:
Contributed papers (Regular papers; Survey papers; Invited session papers)
Invited session proposals
Industry presentations (no paper required)
Regular Papers are limited to six (6) pages. Initial submissions may be up to eight (8) pages long for the purpose of review. Manuscripts must be prepared in the standard two-column IFAC format.
An invited session comprises six (6) thematically coherent papers for which sequential presentations in a single session add value beyond the presentation of individual papers. An invited session might focus, for example, on a particular emerging challenge or a new methodology that is gaining traction within the community.
Invited session proposals should provide a two (2) page summary describing the motivation and relevance of the proposed session, as well as a short overview of each individual paper and how it supports the session’s theme. Note that invited session proposals have an earlier deadline than the invited papers that would compose that session. Upon submission of the proposal the session organizer will receive a session code, which should be communicated to the authors of the invited papers before they submit their individual contributions.
Please use this LaTeX template for invited session proposals.
Invited session papers must be submitted separately by their respective authors using the session code provided by the invited session organizer. Invited papers will undergo the same review process as contributed papers. Therefore, they should be of comparable high quality and should abide by the same formatting and submission rules. Invited session papers are limited to six (6) pages. Initial submissions may be up to eight (8) pages long for the purpose of review. Manuscripts must be prepared in the standard two-column IFAC format.
If an invited session proposal is accepted but a constituent paper is rejected, the Program Committee reserves the right to replace the rejected invited paper with a compatible, contributed paper. Conversely, accepted invited papers from a rejected invited session will be included in regular contributed paper sessions.
Industry presentations are oral presentations delivered by industry or government stakeholders as part of the conference technical program. Industry presentations are intended to encourage participation by members of the marine industry for whom the preparation of a formal, archival paper may be impractical. An industry presentation proposal should comprise a one (1) page description of the oral presentation, including the title, the name and affiliation of the speaker, the motivation and scope of the talk, and key outcomes to be presented. Industry presentations are intended to be informative, technical presentations. Proposals that market products or services will be rejected.
